Robot that plug in and out NIC cable

Hi there,
I would like to build a robot , that sits statically on servers chasis , that all is job is to connect / disconnect ethernet cable from ethernet NIC , by command from a computer.
the software will be done by me , but I don’t really know how to build the robot mechanics to do this job . can you please help me or guild me with that ?
thanks,
Eitan

Although a servo would be easiest, the motion would be rotational, so to save you time and mechanical complexity, consider an R/C controlled linear actuator:
robotshop.com/en/firgelli-actuators.html
Ex: robotshop.com/en/firgelli-te … RB-Fir-101
with:
robotshop.com/en/servo-controllers.html
Ex: robotshop.com/en/phidgets-ad … =RB-Phi-79

You would likely need to remove part of the connector (the part which you need to press down to pull it out).
Mechanically, you might need a simple slider to ensure it stays oriented the right way to enter and exit the socket.
Unfortunately we do not carry a track or slider small enough for this application.
