Hello, I am Building a robot platform. Im using a flysky i6 transmitter and sabertooth 2x32 to control the wheel chair motors. All is well with forward driving and skid steer each side. But when when i go hard down(which should be reverse). It just stops. How do i reprogram it, to reverse and stop would just be center point of joy stick… and yes ive taken the sabertooth quiz and have the dip switches set correctly
Hello @Armedrobotinc!
Welcome to the forums!
First of all, can you reverse at all? You mention that it does not move when you go hard down with your joystick. If you can reverse when tilting the joystick a bit, you might have some kind of battery cutoff or you are simply drawing too much current from the driver. If that is the case, do you happen to have a datasheet of your motors?
Another option might be the 4th dip switch, try toggling between independent and mixed.
If this does not work, could you please provide me with pictures of your setup?
The wheels spin in reverse on one side and vise verser when turning, (skidsteer). But other than that no. Im not sure if its the transmitters issue. As its a flysky its made for planes and planes dont have reverse just less and less power until your hard down…
Thanks for the reply. Ill try find the motor info
For whatever reason it is now reversing, i did play with the dip switch and flysky transmitter… not sure what i did. But it works and im happy.
would you think i could run 4 motors of the same, in the one sabertooth, to create true 4x4 drive? join the left hand side motors together and the right with the right?
