Robot arm selection

I am starting a robotics program at a community college. I am looking for some robotic arms that mimic industrial arms. I would like it to lift about 1lb, and be controllable / programmable from a PC. I am not looking for remote control (have VEX for that), just something that programs and acts like an industrial robot. I also need one that is durable to last a few semesters.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Any of the arms linked below would fit the bill. The 1lb is a little on the high side for servo arms though. The RIOS program works very much like an industrial arm. You can even put conditional statements into the project to effect the arms movements.
