RoboSense RS-Helios-5515 LiDAR (150 m)

Hi,

I am interested in the RoboSense RS-Helios-5515 LiDAR (150 m). However, its vertical FoV is -55 to 15 degrees, which is somewhat wasted for my application; I need the vertical FoV to be higher proportioned pointing up to scan the environment around the robot.

I have read that its vertical FoV is customisable (see RoboSense 32-beam/16-beam LiDAR RS-Helios - RoboSense - LiDAR for Autonomous Driving, Robots, V2X). Could I please have the FoV changed to something like -15 to +55?

"Regarding your inquiry about customizing the vertical FoV on the RS-Helios-5515, I must clarify that modifications to a single unit’s field of view would entail significant changes in the design and calibration of the system, and unfortunately, this is unfeasible for just one unit due to the extensive non-recurring engineering (NRE) costs involved.

However, we are committed to assisting your customer and are willing to discuss possible solutions or alternatives that might accommodate their needs within the constraints of our standard product specifications.

Please feel free to share more about the customer’s application and requirements, and we can explore potential ways to address their needs without necessitating modifications to the unit.

Thank you for finding this out for me. I needed 3 units, but purchased in a phased manner, would they be able to help then? Would I be able to talk to them directly?
