Hi Bozooka,
The RoBoard RB-100 should be compatible with many off-the-shelp Mini-PCI components including storage devices. Now getting the RoBoard to boot off that device is experimental but should work in theory. Oddly enough, with a quick Google search I could not find Mini-PCI HDDs. Do you have an example?
We will evaluate the possibility of adding a dedicated RoBoard forum.
Mini PCI express and Mini PCI are different.
Take for example the Mini PCI video card we sell for RoBoard

Compare Mini-PCI to Mini PCI-E
RoBoard is not compatible with Mini PCI-E so you would need to try a Mini PCI (not express) storage device.
Other high capacity storage options for the RoBoard that come to mind:
-USB HDD
-Up to 16GB MicroSD
