Robo-War--A call for ideas

We are having a robot war in our engineering institute, IIT Guwahati.

Need some ideas....the task is to push the opponent out of arena or immobilise it for atlest 30 seconds. Current limit-10amps, Weight limit-60kgs.

 

ROBOCALYPSE: WRECK OR BREAK AIM: The  objective  is to  make  a  wired/wireless,  manually controlled  bot that  can immobilize  the  opponent’s bot in  a  one  on  one  competition.

SPECIFICATIONS: Bot  Specifications     The bot should  not exceed  the dimension  750mm  x 750mm  x 1000mm  (l x b  x h)  at  any  point  during  the  match.     External  device  used  for control  are  not included  in  the  size  constraint.     The weight  of  bot should  not exceed  60kg  ,  including  the  weight  of pneumatic  sourse/tanks     The weight  of  adapters  and  the  remote  controller  will not be  included  in this constraint  Mobility     All robots  must  have  easily visible  and  controlled  mobility  in  order  to compete.

Hi there!

I want to share an idea how to easily defeat opponents without breaking existing limits.
It should be a three-wheeled robot similar to the DoodleBot by OddBot, only much larger :slight_smile: (https://www.robotshop.com/letsmakerobots/node/32840).
Instead of the marker the needle is installed, as the leg of a compass. The needle should be very strong and sharp, maybe it should be a nail for concrete :slight_smile:
The robot moves closer to the opponent two wheels forward.
When the information about the collision comes from the accelerometer, the needle drops down and the robot starts to move the opponent in a circle pushing him out of the arena.

Аnd you get a robotic Aikido there :slight_smile:

Go for a “simple design” Make a spinner either rotating a drum or a blade or a shield. 

Don’t try to make something fancy.Make what works and have worked for the last 19-20 years. 

Due to the 10 Amp limit I would instead make a flipper robot out of a pneumatics system.
