RJ45 MagJack Breakout - Cat6a compatible?

I’m curious about using this breakout so I can tie cat6a cables into an audio system I’m building. The primary question is whether the connector on this breakout is compatible with cat6a cables, as I’m under the impression that not all RJ45 plugs are the same.

Also, midly confused as to what the “Y+” and “Y-” are for. P1-P8 is easy, and assuming the G’s are the ground/shield connections.

Certainly appreciate any and all help!

Hi there,

This is a good question you have there.
Since the Cat5A and Cat5B are different ways to wire both ends of a Cat5 cable, it should not affect the end result.
In the end, the pin 1 will go to pin 1, the second to the second and the third to third… on and on.

What you must be careful of is the usage of a crossover cable. (usually starts with A and ends up with a B)
