RIOS SSC-32 Connection problem

1st robot built, sucessfully can connect via LynxTerm and control all servos.

Cant connect via Rios SSC-32.

Light on controller board blinks at about a 1 second rate

Pressing the (Connect) button stops the light while the dialog box is up. Once I select the (Yes) Option light returns to 1 second blinking interval.

THe com port selected is the same as LynxTerm and the baud pairity . . . . are the same.

I am using a USB connection with Win 7 64 - bit.

Also have had the exact same results with laptop using Win XP SP3 w/db9

For some reason I cannot make the USB work with the laptop. (Thats why the Db9)

The symptoms on both computers are the same, I’m out of ideas.

Suggestions?

Update:

Win 7, USB

I can connect via LynxTerm and control all of the servos.

The “Ver” command does not work. It appears I have 1 way communications. I am guessing that the message “Can’t find SSC-32 Card” requires understandable data in return.

My baud rate is connect “out of the box” which I beleive at 115.2k

Could someone explain how these jumpers work

00 - says 2400 baud
01 - says 9600 baud
10 - says 38.4
11 - says 115.2

My jumpers for the baud rate is as it is in the SSC-32 Manual

Assembled 2nd robot, worked fine. suspect I’ve got a bad controler card for #1 robot :frowning:

Make sure the jumpers on the baud rate are both installed. This is for 115.2kbaud. Make sure both jumpers are installed where it says Tx and Rx. Check that they work (they actually short the two pins together they are pushed onto.)
