RIOS software and Servo Centering/Control

While building the Lynx 6 Arm, I hooked it up to my laptop using a serial to USB converter, so that I could align the joints. The software was communicating with the servos for a while, but it stopped working all of a sudden. I tried reassigning the COM port and the baud rate on both the board and the COM port, but nothing worked. It started to work again when I put in a different serial to USB convert, but stopped working when I plugged all of the servos into the board. I tried just using one servo at a time and it was no good. I was supplying 6 and 7 vdc to the middle voltage port. How do I get the software to work with the hardware?

I also just tried using a straight serial to serial connection and I am having the same problems.
