Ridicule Page

Hi all,

I'm still working on my robot, however the mechanical side is almost complete, the electronics are almost complete, but the coding still remains to be finished.

When I'm working on something mechanical, I find it comes naturally to me. Electrical systems are confusing at times, but as a general rule, I can muddle my way through it. This leaves me with the programming. It's something I know little about and genuinely struggle with.

Earlier today, I posted what can only be described, as a silly question, in the forum. When I worked out the answer was obvious, I deleted the post. Not before however, someone kindly answered that question. I'm also expecting this type of thing to happen more frequently, as I get more in depth with my code.

Now, a bit of forward planning never goes amiss, which is why I have created this page here. All my future posts will have a link to this page, so when I ask something, either silly, obvious, or just plain drunken rambling, anyone who wishes to ridicule, criticise, laugh, insult, or abuse me, can do it here. That will leave the commenting area on the post free for the answer I require.

I know the majority of LMRers are patient and always willing to help, but I also know I'm likely to ask questions, which will infuriate.

Anyone wishing to try this page can do it whenever they please too. Go on, have a try, insult me, but keep the language clean. I know there's youngsters who use this site.

Thanks for reading,

Paul

about search engines,

about search engines, nowaday they are made to suit up the preferences of the users, or just what google or bing are paid for more as advertisement.
Just as example here what i see as myself signed in as engineer on the left and on the right it’s what i see as if i were using google with no hystory, cookies, as a total noob.

Of course if there was a start up called Encoder.com it would be the first or second result.
Bing usually is worse <.<

So just by searching around google learned there’s almost no chance i would be interested in seeing annoying ads, and refined the search with wikipedia on first result, with good suggestions. Someone with no experience would see 3/4 of the page littered with ads.
Sometimes a filter “bubble” may even prevent good posts from showing as for example searching lots of times “hacker” in a negative way may give you only results about criminal hackers or films, rather than sites like hackaday or hacker communities.

End of the post: “let me google that for you” may not be the best solution. “Go search wikipedia for it” gives best results.

I find with search engines,

I find with search engines, it can be easy to ask the wrong question. It can be something as small as using the wrong terminology, because as a new comer you’re unfamiliar with the correct terms.

Quick question.

Have you tried duckduckgo.com ?

Spot on! Sometime i didn’t

Spot on! Sometime i didn’t even know if a thing exists…

I indeed use it when i feel

I indeed use it when i feel bubbled by google. I mostly use google because i have more tools and tricks when searching

Thanks Silux,There’s not

Thanks Silux,

There’s not many people who agree with me. At least now, I can tell my wife, Silux agrees with me.
