I am building a remote controlled BB-8 that is completely 3D printed. I have an access panel to get to the inside drive system, but it is not easy to get into. Would like to have the ability to turn him on/off without having to open him up every time. Something like a remote key fob that you use to lock /unlock your car. I don’t want to have to power him on, close him up, then leave him on all day (running down the batteries) if I am not driving him. Any advice?
If you are using an RC Transmitter/Receiver to control the robot and if the receiver’s battery/supply is separate from the drive system battery, you can use this BattleSwitch Radio Controlled Relay - DE-01 or this PicoSwitch Radio Controlled Relay - DE-03 to remotely power ON/OFF your drive system depending on the current spec you need.
