Remote for simple tank

I’m trying to make a fairly simple remote control tank (tracked vehicle). I know I can use as Tamiya Tracked Vehicle Kit (robotshop.com/en/tamiya-twin … arbox.html). That gives me the tank body with two motors that control each track separately:

Both motors forward for Forward
Both motor back for Reverse
Each motor going the opposite direction to rotate

My question is how to do I make it work via aremote control box. Ideally I would like to have a box with small joy sticks/toggle switches that control the on off on for the two track’s forward off reverse. My question is what is the easiest way to get the box to send on off on signals wirelessly to the tank chassis? And on the tank chassis, receive the on off on signals and get them to the two motors?

Thanks,

Chris

If you want wireless control, you’ll need a standard RC remote control and a motor controller which accepts RC input. The issue with the Tamiya Gear Box is that the nominal voltage is too low for most DC motor controllers, so you will need to replace the motor part with:

robotshop.com/en/wireless-rc … llers.html
robotshop.com/en/rc-motor-controllers.html

To save a bit of money, you might want to consider the following which already use hte Tamiya Twin Motor Gear Box:

Thanks for the quick response. I’ll give that some thought.
