I have no clue about robotics. I am a home inspector. I usually get on roofs to inspect them but I have had too many close calls. I want to mount a Lynxmotion Pan and Tilt Kit / Aluminium to a tripod and pole contraption that I made. I need to be able to control the pan and tilt kit but I have no idea where to begin. It just needs to be a simple remote that move the mount up and down and left and right. Someone please help me 
You need a pan/tilt kit with servos (or purchase two servos separately if needed). For a small camera, use theLynxmotion Pan/Tilt kit (servos included) or the SPT200 Direct Drive Pan & Tilt System (standard sized Hitec servos sold separately).
To control it from the ground, consider one of the following products:
Manual servo driver
2 Servo Joystick Servo Controller
Servocity 2 Servo Joystick Servo Controller
You will also need a 4.8V to 6V battery pack (4x AA alkaline or rechargeable) connected to the servo controller.
Because of the height, you’ll also need extension cable (you will likely need to wire it yourself, unfortunately we don’t sell the connectors separately so you can solder the wires to three pin headers)
