I am new to this forum, and I want to submit a project to school on Robots.
Aim: To feed the destination address like NMEA code to the controller and it uses GPS receiver to know its present position and compare with the destination address and move to the destination address specified by using stepper motors..
Can u pls guide onthese..
How to decide about stepper motors and controllers I thought of using ARM7 whether its OK or not..???
Oh that’s easy Just find out what kind od processor you wanna use. I’ve seen similar projects using Arduino, so that might be a good choice. Start reading the manual. And try out something like blinking a LED or two. Then move on to testing a motor sheild or maybe a servo. When you’ve mastered that, you’ll probably know how to hook up a GPS. And you will gave a understanding of your bot.
Or if you’re doing this to get a good grade fast, rather than learning robotics, just look around the makezine website, there are several projects like that there. I hope that was helpfull

I have silly questions pls forgive me for these…
1) What kind of batteries can I use because according to my project the ROBO has to cover long distances so shall I use Lead acid, for this I have a problem of weight… pls guide on these.
2) I am planning to use ARM 7 microcontroller for this project, can anybody guide in selecting the components like stepper motor, GPS receiver, Robo body… etc…
