Reducing amp drawn on a dc motor

Hi there!

Is there any easy way to limit the amps drawn by a electro motor? I ordered some good ones but am playing arround with a standard 360 one now. It comes of an rc plane, is small but rather amp hungry. Don't want to blow up the motorbee.

current limiting

Several strategies:

  1. reduce voltage
  2. put additional load in series with sensitive part (motor) - this is the same as 1.
  3. PWM, don’t let the duty cycle go to 100%
  4. use a very nifty current sensing/limiting power source
  5. [Motors tend to draw the most amperes when “stalled”. That means the wheel is stopped and motor is getting/asking full power] - don’t let that happen
