RECOMNDATIONS from the experts

I need some help on a gyroscope.
I am looking for a single axis gyroscope.
I would like to have one that has adjustable sensitivity.
I don’t extreme sensitivity, I need just the opposite.
Something very basic.
Looking to make a project for a self leveling object.
Any and all help & recommendations are appreciated
Thank You.

Hello @ProStreet

I searched for one axis gyroscopes and couldn’t find any available in the store, but since you don’t want a lot of precision I would suggest getting any cheap but reliable model. I checked some of them out and found this one https://www.robotshop.com/en/l3gd20h-3-axis-gyro-with-voltage-regulator.html, it is a three-axis model with configurable sensitivity ±245/±500/±2000 dps, and the manufacturer provides the datasheet, schematic and a user guide. I saw some cheaper gyros too but the manufacturer didn’t provide much information or examples and some customers found that problematic.

I hope that helps, good luck with your project :grinning:

Hey @ProStreet,

I wouldn’t call myself an expert in this but i use a MPU 6050 in some of my projets (also balacing) and it works quite well and is pretty cheap.
There are some nice tutorials on this also working with an MPU6050 (the reason why i decided to use it).

Looking forward to see some pictures of your project

Thank you for your recommendation.
I will definitely research this.

Very interesting, I appreciate the recommendation
I need to find out what the sensitivity ±245/±500/±2000 dps stands for.
Thank you.
