Recommended electrical wire for DC geared motor

Hello,

We bought 4 DC brushed geared motor (313 rpm, 416.6 oz-in), but we dont have any wires for it to go into the microcontroller. We want to use stranded wire, but what size diameter we need to get? The stall current of motor is 20 A for each. We are putting two motors in 1 channel in the microcontroller. My next question is can we do that? Please suggest us where and what type of electrical wire we should get? Also how to connect them on motor? Soldier it or use electrical tape?

Thanks

The choice of wiring is really up to you, just make sure the rating / gauge is big enough to handle the current.

There are not problem to put two motor in one channel as long as it do not exceed the maximum current of that channel.
This configuration is done pretty often in Robotics applications.

It’s never suggested to use “electrical tape” as connection.
You can solder them it will be more safe and you can add a shrink tube over the solder joint.
