The motors have rear shaft, but what is the size of the diameter of the rear shaft?

There is no information on how to install encoders although the manual says it has space for encoders.
The page says that the motors do not have rear shaft, so, can I use encoders on this chassis? if so, how are they mounted?
It seems we don’t stock that particular motor at this time. The manufacturer only sells one DC gear motor which looks like the one used as part of that kit, and with the same specs. If indeed it’s the same motor, the rear shaft would be 4.3mm diameter and 2mm long. We don’t have the kit in stock to measure it physically.
