Hi!
I require your help regarding a problem I’m encountering.
Description:
Hello, newb here needing help or direction. I have a used 2012 BMW seat that I’m trying to implement with memory seating into my Sim-Racing rig. I have by-passed the BMW control module and hot-wired the 8 different actuators built into the seat, I wired them to DPDT toggle switches to fused DC power. I would like to add 4 button Memory function similar to what’s in a normal car seat, such that when I press one of the memory buttons the various actuators all move to the programmed position. I would also be interested in a pre-packaged kit or controller/product that could simplify this job if one exists. I have zero robotics or programming experience, but excited to learn.
Hardware concerned:
The seat has multiple built-in actuators, they are referred to as “Servos” in the online manuals and have two additional wires for something called “Hall Effect Sensor” (signal line and activation line). I don’t have the expertise to know if these wires can help me accomplish the memory function or if it changes the plan of attack.
Software concerned:
Troubleshooting steps already taken:
Additional information:
Essentially I need a more sophisticated version of this, where 4 memory buttons are available to initiate all 8-10 actuators to their pre-programmed positions, depending on which button is pressed…
Thank you so much in advance for your help!
