RC PWM to Dynamixel

Is there a simple way to control Dynamixel servos via RC? I know that can not be controlled via PWM directly, but is there a Dynamixel controller that can except PWM inputs? I am building a remotely operated vehicle that needs lift 3 lbs lbs on a short moment arm. I have been using two HiTech Ultra high torq robot servos in parallel but the cases keep on breaking and sync’ing them up is a pain. One MX-106T might work better if I can controll it.

And before someone asks; linear actuators would not fit in to my size constraints very well.

Thanks

The communication protocol is entirely different, and we don’t offer any adapters. Have you considered L12 linear actuators? They are quite small. A PQ12 may even be able to do it.

Coleman,

Thank you for your feed back. I did look at the L12s I might get the power I need if I use three or four in parallel which kind of gets be back to the sync’ing up issue.

In short; worse case load I need to to lift and hold 48oz on a 8 in moment arm for 20 seconds at a time, I also need at least 120 degree of motion. Making matters more interesting my load does not want to be lifted so I need the actuator to be fast.

Right now I am looking at using two RoBoard RS-1270 instead of the two Hitech HSR-5990TG. I’m hoping the all metal case will make then less breakable, but I am not sure how to mount them. If I can squeeze an oz or two more out of the bot some where else I might use a L12 in a clamping device so i can hold the other robot better.
