I am in need of some assistance. The encoder is on the motor. I am only going to be looking at the A leg as I don’t need to know direction. That said, I am trying to determine RPM of the output shaft after the gear reduction. 1:5.2 not sure what I am missing here. Is the Ecoder putting out 16 pulses on the A leg for each rotation of the motor? (not gearbox) or is that 16 pulses between A and B?

This Encoder outputs 16 pulses per revolution.
You can use channel (A) only since you only want the speed not the direction as well.
