RB-Phi-205 Load Cell Range

Hi,
I currently bought this load cell and was wondering what exactly is the voltage range for the signal output. I have the spec sheet however I don’t see a range saying something like: Load [0 - 1000kg] Signal[0-5V]. It does say the supply voltage is 12V and the rated output is 2mV/V and I’m not exactly sure what that means. Please advise.

Hi,

The voltage output of a load cell is based on the “Rated Output” information from the datasheet. For example, if your load cell has a rated output of 2mV/V and is excited at 12V, this means that when the load cell is at full load (1000Kg load), it will output 24mV (2mV/V x 12V).
Since the output voltage of a load cell is too small to be useful, load cells are usually operated with instrumentation amplifiers to amplify the output voltage to a 0V-5V/0V-10V signal.
