My questions are:
What kind of interface it uses?
Does it provide feedback and if yes how does the feedback work and is it Voltage Feedback or Encoder Feedback?
What other information about using it could you tell me?
That version of the AL5A arm doesn’t have any electronics, so it only includes the brackets and the servos. The servos are standard 6V R/C servos driven with PWM signals and do not provide any feedback.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I thought that the servo motors would have a potentiometer or a small encoder to determine its position which would provide the feedback that i may need for an controller to read.
The servos do have a potentiometer that’s used internally to the motor to control the position, but they do not give any feedback to the robot controller. There could be a way to modify each servo to add a fourth wire to give feedback, but we don’t have any instructions for that.
As a general rule, the servos all have potentiometers in them, but some models might be different. All the servos included in the AL5A arm do have the potentiometer.
If you’re looking for servos with feedback, we would recommend the smart servo motors:
