RB-Dfr-639 Ph Probe

Hi there,

I bought this probe about a year ago. I loved it. I only used it for about 3 or 4 months, then left it in plain tap water for a few months. I didn’t think leaving it in water would hurt it…

I’m trying to calibrate it again but it is reading too high. About 7.5 in PH 7.0 solution. It is only just a year old, and was only ‘probed’ for less than a second every hour or so, (for a few months)…

I tried leaving it in PH 4.0 overnight, that didn’t help. I tried heating the PH solution to 50 degrees, that didn’t help either. I’ve left it in the storage solution now.
(Which I should have done from the beginning and I wouldn’t be having this problem… I suspect… anyway)

Is there a way to save this probe or do I have to buy another one? I thought being an industrial probe, it would be okay sitting in water… As long as it didn’t dry out, I thought I was golden…

Oh well, please advise if there is something I could do to save it.

Also, I’m trying to figure out how to reset the adjustment on the PH Adapter v1.1? I read somewhere you short out the BNC connector on the circuit board and adjust it to read 2.5v on the signal data line. Does that sound right? How can I test if my adapter is okay?

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

What is the storage solution you have used ? It is suggested to use 3MKCl solution to restore the performance of the pH electrode in the product’s Wiki.
As for resetting the adapter, we suggest you to contact DFRobot.

I’m using FloraSol’s Storage Solution. I’m not sure what it is made of. I asked for the other, but this is what the shop had.

Thanks again.
