Raspberry pi and tft lcd screen

Hello

I have been trying to put together a small project that involves a Raspberry Pi and a 2.4 or 2.8" TFT LCD screen. I want to try to make a model electronic billboard (you may have seen large electronic billboards while out - sometimes they dissolve and display several ads on one billboard - each on the screen for 3- seconds or so - example attached I hope - bit like this).

I have tried to obtain components from one / two large online sellers but their staff were unable to give me much advice - consequently items were not compatible, cables did not link components, instructions for one screen were only in Chinese! and components had to be sent back for refunds - a real waste of time.

Can anyone tell me what components from Robot Shop - including connectors / any cables - I need to make this work.

We can offer you two solutions:

First one is easily assembled on top of the Raspberry Pi, while other one is easily connected to Raspberry Pi via USB cable. Probably the second one would suit you better, since the display would fit into your small billboard and Raspberry Pi could be mounted somewhere else.
