Rasberry PI 2

Hi

I recently purchased a Rasberry PI 2 board and NOOBS flash card from RobotShop. I also bought a Wi-Fi adapter

The computer booted up OK, however internet is terribly slow: to load the Google page it takes more than a minute. I tried through both Wi-Fi and Ethernet cable to router: no difference.

Is this the typical speed of the board? At this speed, it is unusable.

My internet is 15/10 from Bell (15MB download / 10MB upload).

What could be the cause?
Should I try another flavor of Linux (other than Raspbian)?

Thanks,

Marc B.

Hi Marc,

This does not seem normal at all. Since you already tried with direct Ethernet cable connection, then it is most likely not the connection itself that is the issue.
With a quick online search, we found multiple threads discussing this issue, such as:

]Pi 2 Internet problems very slow !!! (solved)/:m]
]New RaspberryPi, Why is my browser so slow?/:m]
]New PI 2 B+ unusably slow, CPU and RAM not being used?/:m]
Please note we did not read any of these fully, but they seem full of troubleshooting ideas that may help you resolve your issue (or at the very least, eliminate possibilities). If none of those help, you may want to post on the www.raspberrypi.org forum directly yourself.

Sincerely,
