Radio Controlled Snow plow

Help needed.
Radio controlled snow plow. Has radio glitch when activating 12 V winch. Is there some kind of filter or something to prevent this problem?

Hello @RickCarnevale ,

Welcome to RobotShop community.

We are sorry for the late reply.

Is it a DIY R/C Snow Blower or did you buy it from a certain company?

What type of glitch are you getting?

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

This is a radio controlled snow plow that I built.
I am using a Sabertooth controller for the radio to control the drive motors and I’m using a linear actuator to raise and lower the plow. The problem is when the actuator reaches its end travel limit switch, the blue light on the Sabertooth blinks like it is being shut off and when this happens it looses its radio center point. Then goes out of control. This usually only happens if the drive motors are running at the same time as the actuator hits its end point. If the drive wheels are NOT running the Sabertooth still blinks when the actuator hits its end point but the radio remains centered.

Hello @RickCarnevale,

Thank you for your reply.

This is a cool project, we recommend contacting the manufacturer of the Sabertooth controller to be able to assist you with that issue:
[email protected]

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Sincerely,

This REALLY SUCKS! I bought this Sabertooth from the Robot Shop. They cannot be reached by telephone. Their only means of reaching them is through this lame “HELP” forum that is useless to me. I realize they are not the manufacturer but the manufacturer cannot be reached by telephone either. I’m sure there is a solution for the problem I’m having but I’m also sure that I wont be finding it here! Thanks for wasting my time!

Hello @RickCarnevale ,

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The manufacturer can be reached through this email and phone number:
330.634.1430
[email protected]

We can contact them on your behalf but this would take longer in the back and forth and that’s why we recommend that you contact them directly.

Sincerely,

I have already contacted them and I’m waiting for a reply.
