Racing simulator 2dof

Hi.
Im planning to build a racing simulator, 2dof.
Im a newbie so This is learning by doing.
Setup gonna be:
arduino r3
2x worngear motors, Each motor is 24v, 400watt, rated current 22A and 66A peak.
Sabertooth 2x32?
My question is, how big power supply do i need for This Setup? I only need one psu?

Hi,

Welcome on the forum.

Your question here is regarding power distribution.

Since the difference between 24V and 5V is pretty high, I would recommend that you use 2 power supply.

One that supplies the 5-9V for the logic, the control/sensors, and the Arduino.

The 24 Volt should be there to power up the big motor only.

Since you have 2 motors to drive, you will need a 24V power supply able to provide at least 1600 Watts. 24V X 66A X 2motors = 3200Watts
Make sure you can test your product before buying your parts so you can really measure the peak current drawn by your motors.

Let me how it goes and I would like to see the result once it’s completed.
