Questions about arduino

Hello everyone! I have not been on in a long time, so I am basically starting over my account. I had a few questions about Arduino. I was wondering how you use the IR remote and how you put together the circuit.

To use the IR remote, you will need an IR receiver to read the commands from the remote.

Hello!
This will not work. from what I can gather from the error messages/research the library has been updated, leaving all vids outdated. Any other tutorials? Sincerely- Henry
