I have a question about the ASB301 bracket mouting hole pattern. First why are two of the holes elongated? also, why are there two sperate patterns of four holes used when the standard SES ASB-04s have the middle hole shared?
The micro servos have smaller horns then standard size servos. In order to accommodate mounting the micro brackets to standard SES brackets I had to elongate some of the holes. Basically the side of the elongated hole closest to the 8mm center hole (which is shared in both brackets) fits the micro servo horn, and the outside of the elongated holes fit the standard SES stuff. I could have made the center two holes on the ASB-301 elongated as well, but the result was too much material lost in that area of the bracket. So for strength I left them two separate holes.
It should still be possible to align things in the same manor though. I tried to make sue at least two holes would align for the majority of applications. However it’s more and more difficult to anticipate all the different combinations the brackets can be configured in.
