Question about jump wires?

Hi, I'm a complete begginer to robotics and electronics in general.

I recently bought the LMR Start Here Robot Beginner Kit and am attempting to build it.

I'm just starting out and I'm already stumped. I've watched the tutorial vids here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-MgYD-bQSM

but it doesn't seem to go into much detail in terms of a step by step guide which would have been helpful.

My question is how do I connect the jumper wires to the motors. I know soldering is involved but they are all f/f wires on both sides. Do I need to cut off the tops of those wires to make them open to soldering?

Also how do I connect the female jumper wires to eachother?

Hope that makes sense, forgive my electronic ignorance.

Jumpers

Jumpers come in different lengths and terminals. You can get MALE/FEMALE, MALE/MALE & FEMALE/FEMALE. I also make use of 0.1in  (2.54mm) headers, connectors and crimp pins. Additionally you can get multi conductor cables with headers. Get a good stock so you won’t feel bad about ruining some while learning.

Guide

You can find in this link a complete guide for the LMR Start Here Robot Kit. You’ll have to cut one end of the F/F jumper wires to solder them on the motor’s pins and connect the other end to the pin headers on the board.
