Question about buying and choosing ultrasonic sensor (hexa)

question about buying and choosing ultrasonic sensor

this is the robot i have bought and finish assembly but havent start programming

this robot dont have sensor so that i hope to purchase some sensor and put on it so that when it reach something object about 30cm in front or behind, it will react and avoid the object

so here is my question about ultrasonic sensor and i need your recommend for buying ultrasonic sensor ( i need about 6 )

  1. is there quite a lot type of ultrasonic sensor? i need about distance of sensing object 30cm - 50cm
  2. easy of wiring and install in my hexa robot
  3. hope to provide installation step and knowledge about programming

there are all my question and i hope you guys can help me.

Hi, I am currently using an ultrasonic sensor on my Hex.
Since you are using the Basic atom pro, and you require multiple ultrasonic sensors i suggest you make use of the I2C bus… then you could wire each sensor up to the same two pins and just communicate to them with different addresses. The one that I am using is the Devantech SRF08 - although this is a pretty expensive one, it has high performance and even has a light sensor included.
