I’m considering a possible project with one of the robotic arms - I was wondering whether any are precise enough to grab / pick single coins from the top of a stack if programmed correctly (what kind of precision is possible)? What kind of grip does the gripper have?
I would recommend using a vacuum pick and place style fitting for lifting a single coin from a stack. Much easier to implement. The precision is difficult to quantify. The reslolution gets worse the farther away from the base the arm is moving to. I think you shoule be able to accurately position the gripper over a coin though.
