Quadrino Nano FCT won't flash firmware

Hi,
I am using the Firmware Config Tool on Windows 10 to flash the firmware into the Quadrino Nano. I press “Flash Firmware” but the software only compiles the firmware and doesn’t load it into the flight controller. I have downloaded the correct VCP drivers from Silicon Labs but the problem keeps persisting.
I have also tried different cables and different devices but the problem keeps occurring. Please could you help me find a solution for this?
Thank you

Hi mg,

Have you selected your COM port right next to the flash button ?
Do you have an error or nothing happen ? (any images and/or videos would help here)

Just tested on my end to be sure and it loaded, can you have a look at your driver page ?

Hi, thanks for the reply. This is what the config tool shows when I try to flash the firmware. I can select the comport correctly but after the firmware is compiled, nothing happens and no error messages show.

This is my driver page:

Thank you.

Hi mg,

It seems you do not have the right USB / Serial driver installed.

  1. Connect your Quadrino Nano USB
  2. Go to the Device Manager and find the COM port
  3. Right click and “Uninstall device”

  1. Make sure you select “Delete the driver software for this device.” prior to uninstall

  1. Disconnect the board & plug it back to test in in the “Firmware Config Tool”

On my side this installed an even older driver but does work in the FCT.

I uninstalled the driver as you showed, but when I plugged the quadrino in again, it does not install the driver automatically so no COM ports show up in the FCT. Before, I manually installed the driver files from the Silicon Labs website, which only has the latest drivers,

The latest drivers are not the one to use, try THIS.

It still doesn’t seem to work:

That’s weird, do you have anything else but the USB cable connected to your Quadrino Nano ?
Have you tried rebooting after the install ?

I have rebooted after the install and there is nothing else connected to the quadrino. Could it be an issue with the hardware?

  • Is the Quadrino powered when connected? (only USB)
  • Usually, if the board is recognized by the computer and has the right drivers, it should work.
