Any hints are getting the software to install on Windows 10? - Tried two PCs, but both resulted in an error, but no hints. I love Windows 10…
Hi,
We can certainly try and help you resolve this issue, but we would need more information first.
Please provide us with the following:
- One or more images (screenshots) of any errors encountered.
- Which version of Windows 10 are you running (home/pro/etc. and build). You can get this info by pressing WIN key + R and typing in the command winver and pressing [enter]. Please take a screenshot of that window, too (ALT + PrintScreen to take a screenshot of only the active window instead of the entire screen).
- Any other details about steps you’ve taken to install the software or try to resolve the issue.
Please use the Full editor when you reply to attach your images to your post (see attached image for details).
Sincerely,
Also, if the error message you are getting is related to “Windows protected your PC”, you may simply need to click “More info” and then choose to “Run anyway”.
See the attached image below for details.
Sincerely,
Thanks for the reply. Attached are the screenshots.
Regards,
John

Hey,
Thanks for the info and screenshots (even the log file! super helpful!).
Here are some ideas about what might be going on:
This is especially significant since the URL itself seems to work well. Maybe try it in a web browser and see if it works?
Let us know if you figure out what is blocking the download.
Sincerely,
Thanks for the advice. I turned off the McAffee firewall from BT, but the same error occurs (see log file attached).
I have also tried on an old (Windows XP) laptop with no anti-virus or firewalls that I know of, the installation did start but after ~30 mins ‘an error occurred’ (penultimate line of log file: URLDownloadToCacheFile failed with HRESULT ‘-2146697208’)
Any further thoughts?
Regards,
John

Hi John,
Are you running this from a residential type of network or is this on a school/corporate network? Typically, more complex networks include extra security that is transparent from users that can cause exactly the issue you are seeing.
Aside from that, we will review the information you provided with the developer and see what we can find.
Sincerely,
It is an entirely private, stand-alone PC.
Regards,
John
Hi John,
Thanks for the extra details. The developer is looking into it and may have some more questions or steps for you to solve this issue.
Sincerely,
I have been emailing the developer directly on this issue, but have not heard back in 3 weeks - is there a problem?
John
Hi John,
We have sent a message to the developer and we will get back to you once we receive a response.
We apologize for the delay and we will do our best to resolve this quickly.
Sincerely,
