Quad body questions

I have some questions about the quad body kit QBK-01 ]. First, is it still available, and is there a building guide for it? I’m curious where the battery is mounted, and what legs are recomended.

2nd, although the length of 7.25" appears to be 2" longer then the axis points of 5.25", thw width of 3" is LESS then the axis points of 5.25. What are the correct width and axis points?

  • Height = 2.125" (1.875" standoffs)
  • Length = 7.250" (Body)
  • Width = 3.000" (Body)
  • Length = 5.250" (Axis points, end to end leg)
  • Width = 5.250" (Axis points)

Anyone built one with this body? Any photos?

Thanks!

The specs are correct. The width of the body is measured at the narrow part of the body. The overall width is going to be 1" more than the axis point width. The width of the narrow part of the body seemed to be a more important measurement. You should be able to use pretty much any leg on this. Here is an image of an assembled bot using this chassis. Note it is in a link on the product page just above the specs. lol

This image is illustrating the body made from tinted lexan. The current default is black lexan. Hope this helps.

OK, that explains it. I still don’t see the battery position. I suppose it could go anywhere below. I had it in mind to stack the two boards.

Yes, I did see that view. I was hoping for some hi-res photos. That’s OK.

Any plans to bring out an aluminum body?

Thanks!

I forgot one of your questions. I just realized we don’t really have an assembly guide for it yet. :stuck_out_tongue: Yes the battery can go anywhere inside. When we make it into a real kit we will formalize everything. An aluminum body will happen at the same time. Here is a high resolution image of it from the Hi-Res images page.

Hope this helps…

No rush for the assembly guide, although I did look for one.

This pix is great! I think I’ve got a better idea of the overall size and leg orientation now.

I suppose a version of PowerPod will need to be made to support quads. I know you had an explanation of quad gait somewhere (JPG?), but I’ve yet to find it again.

Thanks!

hi.

has anyone ever built a working quadrapod?

i would like to build one and need ideas.

Stick around!

I just got an aluminum quad body cut last night (well, one of the two plates), and tried mounting the four legs. Looks good!

To answer your question, I have seen several quads running on You Tube.

I’m going to implement a slow-crawl gait first.
