I am looking for an actuator that thrusts and then returns to the retracted position. It has to have enough power to forcefully push a tennis ball off of a table. Can anyone help me out?
Feel free to email me at [email protected] also.

How would you like to control it? It sounds like you don’t need position control. We’d suggest either opt for a linear actuator, or an RC servo motor. It will really come down to method of control, so waiting for your reply. In the meantime:

I want to push a button, have the shaft extend and then when current is removed it returns to the retracted position.
It sounds like a solenoid would best suit your needs. Take a look at the video here:

The button would need to handle the current, and that’s about it.
You’d need a button, wires and a power supply.

Note that we have not tested any of these as a system - it’s up to you to choose correctly.
