I am trying to use my PS2 wireless controller, but I am having problems communicating. I can already communicate using my wired controller, but when I try to use my wirelss, nothing seems to work. Is there anything in particular I need to do to talk to the wireless controller.
What microcontroller / carrier are you using?
Which PS2 controller, make and model are you using?
I am using a 32bit Atmel Arm core processor. I am communicating to the wired controller via SPI. I am using a Pelican Chameleon wireless controller and a Pelican wired controller. I have everything working with the wired controller, all of the buttons, joysticks, vibration, etc, but when I try to use the wireless controller nothing works. I am thinking it is a timing issue, are there more resctiction on time with the wireless controllers.
Yup, I have no experience with any of this equipment. You might want to get last months (I think) Servo magazine as Pete Miles did a very in depth technical article on the in’s and out’s of using the PS2 controllers. You may need to change a pullup value to a lower value 500 ohm instead of 1k. for the faster wireless controller. Good luck with it!
Which month was that issue in?
It was in the July 2006 issue. Here’s some additional information to go with the article:
