PS2 V2 receiver dimensions

Can anyone provide dimensions for the PS2 V2 receiver board including level shifter?
lynxmotion.com/p-869-ps2-rob … er-v2.aspx

If drawings or 3D models are available they would be much prefered but any dimensions would be helpfull.

Also has anyone removed the plastic case from this receiver to make it a little smaller?

Is it possible to attach the level shifter in a different configuration to make the assembly a little shorter, possibly stacked with the receiver board having the plastic case removed? Im trying to make this unit as compact as possible, any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

i know form google the casing is: 6.3 in x 4.29 in x 2.05 in
but i guess you are after real dimensional drawings?

yes you can remove the casing to reveal the smaller board size inside. i did this before and does help to save space.

innerbreed, thanks for the response.

I am having trouble believing that those dimensions are for the receiver, they are what I would expect for the remote.

Any chance you have a picture of the receiver with the case removed?

humm yes. sorry it was a copy and paste from Google and i didnt really take much notice of the numbers. sorry for that. lol

Thanks for the pictures, they are very helpful.

I did a little more digging on some of the other brands for wireless ps2 controllers and was able to find a picture of the board from a logitech brand receiver.

The logitech receiver seems much smaller than the Lynxmotion brand but reading a few posts makes it sound like they can be very difficult to get working.

Does anyone know of a ps2 receiver that is similar in size to the logitech brand but can be reliably interfaced to a robot controller (I am planning to use the Arc32 with modified phoenix code)?

Good luck. Very few people I see post (including myself) have any luck with the Logitech ones.

You want small, Take a look at the Basic Micro/Orion Robotics PS2. They are not at all compatible, but are small. They also only use one IO pin and communicate using a modified software serial. I know they have an Arduino library for it, not sure if they have any for basic.

If you have not yet ordered, there may be a chance we can ship a level shifter / PS2 receiver separate so you can solder them yourself. Use straight headers to make it compact.

Thank you for the offer, I have not ordered any parts yet as I am still working on the overall system design. I will be sure to let you know if I decide to go that route.

The Basic Micro/Orion receiver looks like it will fit the bill in terms of size … too bad it isn’t a plug and play replacement.

I found this PS2 controller on RobotShop robotshop.com/robophilo-ps2- … r-kit.html
The receiver appears to be a little larger than the logitech but about half the size of the Lynxmotion receiver.
Has anyone had success with this controller and the phoenix code?

We have not tried it, and as such can’t say if it will work or not…
