PS2 Remote Control doens't works

Dear all,

I have a AH3R robot, SSC32 and Bboard II with a Basic Atom Pro 28.
I receive from Lynxmotion the PS2 remote control at 2.4GHz.

I used the Powerpod software to realized the config files, but when i plug the PS2 controller cable, nothing works !
The two leds on the remote controler are blinding (“analog” and “negcon”) during a time, after this time, they are off, but there is no effects on the legs.

My config is the next:

SSC32:

Baudrate fixed at 38.4 Kbds
The serial connector is plug with Rx and Ground

BBII:

The serial connector is plug with the pin 8 and the ground*
The remote control cable is plugged on 12.13.14 and 15 pins

0- I plug the DB9 on the SSC32 at 115Kbds and the jumpers on Tx/Rx
1- On the PowerPod software, i configure my servos at 1.5ms, then i modified the offset for each servos and save.
2- I upload the main programm to configure the Bboard II and save it (always connected to the SSC32, following the manuel)
3- I upload my file to the Basic Micro Studio and download it on the BBII (I didn’t connect neither the remote cable nor the serial connector to the SSC32)
4- Unplugged the DB9, connecting the serial cable and the remote controller cable, power the remote controler but nothing happend

Could you help me please ?

Thanks for your help and support.

Regards,

Christophe

The latest PS2 controllers do not work anymore with 5V logic; they work with 3.3V logic only.

You will either need to use the new version of the controller: lynxmotion.com/p-869-ps2-robot-controller-v2.aspx

Or use this level shifter: lynxmotion.com/p-870-ps2-wireless-controller-receiver-level-shifter.aspx

You can also use this connector to make it easier to connect the shifter: robotshop.com/ProductInfo.aspx?pc=RB-Cyt-70

If your controller was part of the kit, please send us a message to our support centre to see if we can exchange the controller for you: robotshop.helpserve.com/

Dear Carlos,

I found the problem.
Because i hacked the remote controller cable, and a bit of solder was the cause of my problem.
So everything is working fine.

Thanks for your help and support.
