PS2 controller doesn't seem to communicate

I just finished a phoenix robot, I loaded the code onto my robot (Zenta’s), I wired everything correctly, and when I power it up it gets into position, but my Lynxmotion ps2 controller seems to be completely ignored. When I turn it on, only one LED blinks, is this supposed to happen? why isn’t it communicating

That is a good question.

When you turned on the power to the controller, did the left LED start blinking at about 1 sec intervals? It should, until it links up with the receiver. If not, then the problem is with the controller.

Do you happen to have a PS2? If so, plug the receiver in to your PS2, turn the power on to your controller and see if they link up. If so then, they aren’t the problem. If not, then there is your problem.

Also, if you do have a PS2, plug in one of your wired controllers and see if that works.

I’ve heard that sometimes there is a problem with the adapter that the receiver plugs into, and once in the blue moon, there is a problem with the little black jumper that feeds the 5V to the middle row of the connectors. You could try swapping it out with a different one on the board.

Be sure to read through some of the other threads pertaining to the same problem. Ther is a lot of good information/advice in them.

Have no fear, if there is a problem with your Lynxmotion controller, Jim will take care of you. He is a good guy.

Yes, the led blinks at 1 second intervals. I tried it with my ps2 and it doesn’t work, so that is the problem. I am probably going to buy a new one today. thanks for your help.

Talk to Jim about your controller, as he will replace it for free. But the only things is that you 'll have to wait until after the new year - when they get back.

I got a cheap one today, it works, so I wont need a replacement (I don’t want to wait until after New Years, haha).

Glad you found a quick and simple solution.
