Products suggestions to control servo speed hooked on a r/c receiver

hi !

i’m building a wall-e robot and i hit a problem… my servos for the head are really strong and fast…. too fast…
i use a RV2060MG JX servo that is working on 6v… i use a flysky FS-CT6B transmitter

what can i add or do to reduce the speed of the servo… i tried a servo speed reducer from dave’s r/c electronics it works but it either too fast or too slow…

any suggestions or products ?

thanks

Hello @derepentignymarc !

Great to see you in the forum. I’ve done some research and I though I just found a tutorial that may help you: servo speed control

Hope this could help you.

Good luck

thank you for your responses but i’m asking if something could be recommended for this… that lecture hasnt helped me find the right hardware that i need

Hi @derepentignymarc

The only way to control a servo’s speed is to tell it to take smaller steps, and put a delay between those steps.

Instead of telling it to turn 90 degrees, you tell it to turn for 10 degrees, add a delay and repeat until it makes 90 degrees.

ok so i,ll come back to my initial question…. what product (if you have them) do you have or recommend that will help me use a servo with a r/c transmitter and receiver that is all that i need to know

Hi @derepentignymarc

Just to be sure, you want a product that can slow the servo down, while using a RC transmitter and receiver?

Or you want a product to control the servo with?

Consider the Lynxmotion Smart Servos where you can configure a maximum servo speed (and a whole lot more), which seems to be exactly what you are looking to do: https://www.robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion-smart-servo-motors.html
They are controllable via RC from 6V to 12V (6V is provides around half the max speed compared to 12V).
There are also tons of brackets and accessories to help you create Wall-E’s head, arms etc.

a product that can slow down a servo while being connected to a r/c transmitter and receiver or another suggestion beside replacing the servo that is already installed

What is your remote controller?

You could simply configure it to go slower if possible in the options.

as stated in my first post:
i use a RV2060MG JX servo that is working on 6v… i use a flysky FS-CT6B transmitter

i have checked for thoses options but does not seem to have thoses options

Hello @derepentignymarc

I think what you are looking for is an ESC (Electronic speed controller) which allows the signal from the receiver to control the speed and torque of the connected motor.

You mentioned you are using the Flysky FS-CT6B transmitter (and I’m guessing the receiver too), I did a little research and found these two manuals that could help you out http://www.rcyachts.com/KitInfo/T6Confg/T6Manual.pdf http://rabbitsvc.com/t6ConfigurationManual.pdf. If I understood correctly in order to change the speed you will need to adjust the Throttle Curve and perhaps the Pitch curve. The receiver you have has 6 channels the third one has to be connected to the ESC in order to be able to adjust the throttle speed. As it is shown in this picture

Captura

You can find different ESC’s here

I hope that information helps
