Problems Communicating SSC32 and Robotic Arm

Hi Everyone,

i have been using the SSC32 board for 1 week now and connecting it to the 6DOF Lynxmotion Robotic Arm to align and test the servos. Since my computer doesnt have a serial port, i was using a serial to usb converter and it worked fine the first day or so. Then it the board would not connect to the Robotic Arm Software in the computer anymore.

i tried a different serial to usb cable and it started working again, but then it stopped working after a few tries. Now i cant even connect it to a regular serial connection with a PC.

i have checked all hardware settings and everything seems to be fine. I dont know what could be going wrong. Anyways, the robotic arm software asks to connect to the board but it cant find it, even it is connected to the computer.

I am new to this board, so i might be missing sometihng. I would appreciate anyone's input on how to fix this and have a reliable connection between the board and pc.

Thanks,

Andy

It sounds like a battery issue.

Try removing the V1 = VL jumper, and using a fresh 9V battery to power the SSC-32.
