Problem with Dagu adventure robot kit

i got it today, open it up. unskrew the protective pvc for batteries.
I plugged in the batteries and startet it. It makes a sound, blink with the lights but it does not follow my movments. (hand)
insted it makes the souned blink with the lights then shut off and repeat itself.
Wille it drives backwards ( to the right) only left servo(motor) is going.
Thought it was plug and play?
So if the code is missing, how to connect to computer?, i tried plug it in with the usb, who followd the pack. But nothing happend on the computer, so i turned the robot on.
Then it poppet up in the computer, but the robot whont stand still??
it reset itselft every 5 sec, start making sound then blinking. and driving backwards!.
Its there a guide to connect 2 arduino?
\i tried to follow the guide on arduino site, but with no background before, it was not easy.

Hi olech401,

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. The Dagu Adventure Robot is supposed to come pre-programmed. According to the user guide:

When you first turn your robot on the red LED at the back should light up and it should play a short tune to indicate that it is working properly. The four corner LEDs should now chase around the robot to indicate that the corner sensors are working. If an object is detected by a corner sensor then it’s LED will stay lit until the object is no longer being detected. When you place your hand in front of the robot it will follow the movements of your hand.

Demonstration Software:

The demonstration software that comes with the robot has been written using the Arduino programming environment. The code is a simplified version of the C language ideal for beginners. To modify the demonstration software you must first download and install the Arduino programming environment from this website: arduino.cc/en/Main/Software

Once the programming environment is installed in your computer you can download the demonstration software from here. Unzip the folder into a directory of your choice and open the file “Adventure_Robot.pde”
