PQ12 Linear Actuator

I have a PQ12 linear actuator PN: PQ12-100-12-S.

I applied power and ground to pins 2 & 3 and the piston extended. When i reverse polarity to pins 2 & 3 the actuator does not retract.

Any suggestions? Maybe check resistance between some pins?? I’m trying to figure out what i can do to verify if the actuator is working or defective before I return the actuator.
