my irobot roomba 5210 got a powerproblem, when it is fully charged, and i want it to start it gives 4 beeps and the indicator turns red, i meashures the battery to betveen 15 an 16 volts. i got 2 batteries and both of them are the same.
i have dismantled the robot and cleaned it inside.
measured the amp on the wheel motors to be around 300 mA .
Can you please just confirm what model of Roomba you have? Do you have a Discovery series Roomba, or a 500 series Roomba?
You are getting a dead battery song. Often times this will be because your battery is simply dead, but it may also be a problem with the robot.
How long does the robot run for before it gets this four-beep error? A few seconds? minutes? not at all? This will help us determine where the problem is.
If it’s running for at least longer than a few seconds, it seems that the robot is charging your batteries and the batteries are just defective. However if the robot dies almost immediately it likely signals a problem with the robot; it may be unable to charge the batteries.
Testing the voltage level of the batteries is not always accurate as once they are in the robot and put under load, the voltage will change and can drop below 12V (the minimum for the robot to work; if it goes below 12V it will give you the four-tone dead battery song).
If you have another robot that you know works, you could try your batteries in that robot to see if they work. This will at least help you determine where the problem may be.
Let us know what you find; you may need a new battery, or the robot may be defective. If it’s under warranty, we suggest you pursue this with your distributor or the manufacturer directly. Otherwise, we can suggest replacement parts depending on what you find.
