Hi guys,
I have been working on my latest project which is a hexapod robot. I have this guy all put together with electronics complete however I have ran into a small problem. When I power this guy up, It seems like I have really low power going into servos. By this I mean that the movement behind the servo seems weak. I have tried unhooking all the servos exept for one and it still seems like there is not a lot of power behind it. The strange thing is that sometimes all servos seem to do an action or 2 at full power then return to "low power".
My setup is going through my picaxe 40x2 to a SD20 servo controller chip which is powering 18 micro servos. I am running the picaxe and servos off seperate power supplies. For powering the servos I am using 4 of the Energizer 1.2v, 2450 Mah rechargable batteries. I personally don't see how it could be the SD20 chip as it seems to be more of a power issue.
The servos I am using are found "Tower pro 9g SG90" found on ebay for real cheap. I know that these probably are not the way to go with a project like this but they actually seem really strong when they are working correctly.
This all has me a little confused. My first guess was that this was a "current" problem but then after I tried to power only one servo still nothing. Any ideas on whats going on in my setup would be really helpful!
Thanks for the help guys! :)
