Hello, can i power my Bot Board II with a 9.6v NiCd 1000mAh battery and still operate correctly (don’t want to over heat the regulator ). If i can, would i power the electronic input and short the VS with VL? Or do i need a stepdown transformer or something.
You can use that battery to power the electronics (VL only), but not VS (servo power). Servos generally do NOT like more than 6.0V although some can handle 7.2V. You have to check the specs for your servos to be sure.
