I have purchased the power window motor and now fitted to a project I am building it runs a little too fast …is there a speed controller available to reduce the speed
Hello @Equipment and welcome to the RobotShop forum,
You can use a motor controller to control the speed.
The power window motor has the following specs:
- Voltage Rating: 12VDC
- Rated Speed: 60 ± 15RPM
- Current (No Load): <5A
- Rated Current (Load): <15A
- Stall Current (Locked): <28A at 12V
- Rated Torque: 30Kg.cm (2.9N.m)
- Stall Torque (Locked): 100 ± 15Kg.cm (~10N.m)
In order to choose a motor controller, you have to consider the nominal voltage and the continuous current. So you will need a controller that can work with 12V and can provide 15A and if possible 28A peak in case the motor stall.
You can find many options in the 10-30A DC Controllers section of the store. And in case you need help while choosing one this tutorial might come in handy:
