Power Window Motor with Coupling Prod Code RB-Cyt-175/-176

I am interested in using these motors for a positioning application. I see there is a machined hub on one end of the shaft for attaching a wheel and what appears to be a pressed steel disc on the opposite end.
Is this disc also attached to the shaft or is it just a static cover? (I would like to attach an encoder to this end for angular position measurement)
Thanks Barrie

Unfortunately there’s really no rear shaft to use for an encoder. The rear metal disk is meant to be fixed and would have to be pried off, voiding the warranty.
You might use a pair of spur gears and an offset shaft to be able to add an encoder. You’d need to also fabricate a custom plate.

Pity!
Thanks for your swift reply.
